TUTORIAL: DIY STUDDED JACKET

Finally my weekend is here! I've been super anxious to stud a simple khaki trench coat (a la Burberry) but first wanted to do a test run on an old denim jacket.

So here's what you'll need: 

 

 I'm using an old Uniqlo jacket and purchased studs from an amazing site called Studs and Spikes. Pliers are a MUST in order to bend the back of the studs, unless you want to lose your fingers doing it by hand. I started placing the studs in a brick lay pattern until I reached the elbow (or more if you want) 

THE END RESULT:


 

WHOOHOOO! My honest advice is to make sure you bring your patience and good music because this project takes some time, but the end result is well worth it. Now I'm ready to work on that trench coat!

I've been obsessed with Burberry Prorsum studded jackets for quite some time now *sigh* so before I put a giant hole in my wallet (which is empty now because I just purchased a new wallet) I had to come up with a master plan.

                                                                                                                                 

After much research and not willing to sell my organs, I came across Studs and Pearls for some DIY inspiration and VOILA! The wonderful Kirsten had a great step by step tutorial on creating a Burberry-inspired studded trench also including a link to purchase studs in bulk. GULP!
